The Student Honor Association is composed of a coordinator, an executive team of 15 student employees, and many crucial volunteers. Coordinator: Jeannie Papic Our Purpose: Our purpose as the Student Honor Association is to promote character development and remind members of the BYU community of the importance of keeping the commitment to Honor. Mission Statement: To inspire individual students, empowered by a spirit of honor, to live with strong moral character, to strengthen their spirituality and to live a life full of learning and service. Where did SHA come from? The Student Honor Association grew out of The Honor Code Council. The Honor Code Council was part of the Honor Code Office and was a disciplinary council for students who were in noncompliance with the Honor Code. Then the Student Honor Association was created as a department of Campus Life in 1997 and changed from a disciplinary council to an educational department. Our purpose now is to promote the gospel principles embodied in the Honor Code and to encourage the BYU community to live by these principles.
